Spot Record: 43.68 knots The Devils Bay is still the most favoured spot of Karpathos. During summer we usually have a constant and reliable wind between 5-7 beaufort on the turquoise blue 24 degree warm water. In July and August, during the peak of summer, the wind can get quite strong in the Devils Bay and regularly reaches strengths above 7 beaufort. The flat water, close to the shore without any chops make practicing new manoeuvres very easy and you can see your progress within very few days. If you want to escape the flat water and find some small waves to practice your jumps you only have to surf a few hundred meters off shore. On the other hand, if you want to test your speed limit just stay very close to the shore and you will have perfectly flat water that will let you go faster then ever before. For your safety we always have one of our staff looking out for you on the water and a motorboat ready in the water to get you out of trouble immediately if required. The beach bar in the heart of the surf center offers you drinks and comfortable seating in the shadow to enjoy a relaxed sundowner after a good session. Our surf instructors are always around as well and can help you with some tips to improve your surfing. In the centre we also have toilets, fresh water showers and three huge changing cabins. In order to relax between your sessions we provide free sun chairs within the surf center. Here you get in touch with fellow surfers, exchange your experiences on the water or enjoy a cold drink from the beach bar. Karpathos has the Wind that other places promise. This is the place where you will finally master your manouvers in the warm flat water. visit www.chris-schill.com |
