The wind was not sufficient for racing today, but there are still two days left to get more races in. More than 40 riders are competing at this open national championship, with Peter de Wit (Fanatic) ahead of Dennis Littel (F2) and Jacques v/d Hout at the moment.

Official Report

The Dutch Championship is on it's way. The first day delivered challenging conditions with winds gusting up till 30 knots. The Dutch Championship is being held at strand Horst and the sailors are using Doppler GPS devices. The GPS allows us to use different course lengths depending on the forecast and wind direction. Because of the gusting wind conditions the first and third heat the average of 2x10 seconds was used and the second heat 2x250 meters. If the wind is cooperating we are planning to also go for 500 and the nautical.Predictions don't look too good for the coming days but the first racing day delivered some solid racing with a measured top speed of over 40 knots by Peter de Wit on a choppy course. The race can also be followed live. Championchip handed out live devices to the top riders.  Dennis Littel sailed a bullet in the first race with his F2 SX-M and a Maui Sails TR-4 7.6. He sailed comfortably to a top speed of over 38 knots and an average speed of 36.9 knots. Peter de Wit took the honours the second and third heat and used a Fanatic Falcon 79 with a Neil Pryde EVO 6.7. He is the current leader and also is the fastest racer with a top speed of 40.55 and a run of 38.07 knots. A total of 41 riders including 4 women are battling it out on the water. José Stok is the current leader of the women division.Today the wind is insufficient for official races.
