The wind was not sufficient for racing today, but there are still two days left to get more races in. More than 40 riders are competing at this open national championship, with Peter de Wit (Fanatic) ahead of Dennis Littel (F2) and Jacques v/d Hout at the moment. Read on for a full report on what happened up til now.
Official Report The Dutch Championship is on it's way. The first day delivered challenging conditions with winds gusting up till 30 knots. The Dutch Championship is being held at strand Horst and the sailors are using Doppler GPS devices. The GPS allows us to use different course lengths depending on the forecast and wind direction. Because of the gusting wind conditions the first and third heat the average of 2x10 seconds was used and the second heat 2x250 meters. If the wind is cooperating we are planning to also go for 500 and the nautical. |

Fred Haywood was the first Windsurfer over 30 knots, an unbelievable barrier in 1983.
