ISWC Speed Windsurfing World Championship Fuerteventura 2008: Day 3 PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 28 July 2008

fuerte1.jpgAntoine Albeau (FRA, Starboard) and Valerie Ghibaudo (FRA, Loft Sails) are still leading the ISWC Speed Windsurfing World Championship in Fuerteventura.

Both races today were won by Antoine in the mens fleet, and Karin Jaggi (SUI, F2, North) in the womens fleet. In difficult conditions with breaking waves of up to 1.5 meter and up to 30 knots of wind, the majority of the competitors had difficulties to score good runs.

Albeau dominated the day another time, also scoring the top speed of the event with more than 40 knots now. Patrik Diethelm (ITA, F2, North) and Bjorn Dunkerbeck (SUI, T1/Proof, North) are tied in points behind him, but Diethelm takes second with the better top speed. Places four and five are tied in points as well, with Cyril Moussilmani (FRA, Fanatic, North) ahead of Finian Maynard (BVI), who could find the fastest way throug the chop today.

In the womens fleet first and second place is tied between Valerie Ghibaudo and Karin Jaggi, but Valerie scored the faster run, so is still leading. Third and fourth are also tied between Marion Raisi (FRA) and Emanuelle Duby (FRA), so we have to expect the decisions only in the next races.

Racing contiunes tomorrow with the skippersmeeting at 10:00 and the first possible start at 11:00.
