mos.jpgThe 5th March obviously made one man (Antoine Albeau) very, very happy, but left another less than gruntled, one Finian Maynard, who lost his title as fastest sail powered man on water. Here’s BVI-11’s version of the day, and he clearly hasn’t spoken his last words on the subject !

"This winter of speed at the canal has been the height of frustration for me. Individually I know that my sails, boards and fins are very fast but I have had unexplained trouble matching then collectively together.
My speeds have been mysteriously low, the slowest I have ever been for my whole career in speed sailing compared to the others. Physically and mentally I feel good so it is clear that I must work hard on my equipment tuning to find my magic on the run. I know in my heart that I can be the fastest although it may not seem like that right now. Antoine is on form this winter and the result deserves. I hope to come back strong either at the canal or during the long summer of speed and slalom competition. I still feel confident that I can find my way to the top on some level."
