logo_iswc_120x32.jpgThe World Rankings 2008 for men, women and nations have been updated in the Events->Rankings section. The manufacturers rankings will follow shortly, but the calculation process is a little bit more difficult.

Currently leading is Frenchman Cyril Moussilmani (Fanatic, North) ahead of Jacques van der Hout from Netherlands and Cedric Bordes (FRA). The womens fleet is lead by Valerie Ghibaudo (FRA, Loft Sails), with Marion Raisi (FRA) in second and world champion Karin Jaggi (F2, North) in third.
The nations ranking is clearly dominated by France, Netherlands and Switzerland behind then.

ISWC Speed Windsurfing World Championship Fuerteventura 2008: Day 7 PDF Print E-mail

The riders experienced a day of waiting today, with very variable wind that never reached a suitable strength. It is all up now for the final day of the competition to get the second discard of the day in.

Skippersmeeting will be tomorrow at 10:00, with a first possible start at 11:00. Fingers crossed that the wind will be there !

Another two rounds of speed sailing have been completed today in epic conditions.  Antoine Albeau (FRA, Starboard) and Karin Jaggi (SUI, F2, North) are now leading the overall ranking after six rounds and one discard.

The day started already windy, and all sailors were aware of what would follow. The first start was scheduled for 11:00 then, and the 63 competitors were off on the water.

Luderitz record attempt counts towards the PKRA Speed overall ranking PDF Print E-mail

luderitz.jpgWe are happy to announce that the final ranking of the Luderitz Speedsailing World Record Attempt, taking place from the 15th of September till 13th of October, will count towards the PKRA Speed overall ranking. Thus the 2008 world champion will be crowned this year during this special event, in the best conditions and the highest speeds. The average of the two fastest speeds will count for the event ranking, whenever they are set on the 4 week record attempt period. More details will be published shortly.

We are still working on a national event for windsurfers and kiteboarders in Walvis Bay, middle of october.News about this event, if it takes place and the exact dates, will be also published as soon as possible.

pkra.jpgThe overall rankings have been updated in the events -> results section. Overall leader is now Sebastien Cattelan ahead of Alexandre Caizergues and Christophe Prin-Guenon, all from France. In the womens ranking Charlotte Consorti (FRA) is ahead of Sjoukje Bredenkamp (RSA) and Katja Roose (NED). The final decision about the 2008 world champions will be made in Luederitz, Namibia during this years kitespeed record attempt.

Another sunny day on Sotavento Beach, Fuerteventura. The wind only came up a little bit in the evening, so the riders were released in the afternoon already. The forecast for the upcoming final three days of the 2008 Speed Windsurfing World Championship is very good, so the race committee decided not to start in marginal conditions.
