This year Starboard is investing a lot of energy and resources into the ultimate speed development program. The Starboard team is really happy to announce that they have signed on to support the Speed World Cup Tour, and is really excited for the up and coming events that await 2008. In supporting the Speed World Cup, Starboard have 3 milestones ahead, which they have set their sights on and are feeling confident they can reach.
• The production windsurfing speed record
• The absolute windsurfing speed record
• Breaking the 50 knots barrier
In order to achieve these targets, Starboard are currently working with the Speed World Cup Champion, Antoine Albeau. Antoine is a key member of the Starboard Dream Team and we are confident if any one can do it, it will be Antoine.
Starboard already won the speed production board record in 1997 with Roddy Lewis, and will now be back with the largest fleet of speed boards to date.

Fanatic

Contact: www.fanatic.com
Fanatic has been on the scene since day one and today we are still one of the leading windsurfing brands worldwide. We owe this status partly to the fact that we constantly create new concepts and ideas to improve technological standards. Our shaper Sebastian Wenzel was the first to successfully apply CAD technology in production boards – resulting in immaculate, innovative shapes. More importantly: we have, and always had, a top team of world-class windsurfers inspiring us and giving us an insight into the direction windsurfing will be taken in the future. New trends in the field of Freestyle, evolving through skateboard inspired riding, as well as our ground-breaking progress in Waveboards are just some of the results of this inspiration. Our boards are ridden by World Champions, national and local heroes, but most importantly by our customers - dedicated windsurfers, who share our Addiction to Ride!

The Loft is fully into windsurfing design development... speed on the water is in my blood! I am online at every Speed World Cup event!
Early last year she was recovering from a shoulder injury, then Valerie took two of the big 3 events last year. This year she is ready! I have been busy preparing her gear for 08. I am confident our preparations will bring results... we will see!"

Carbon Art

Speed

The Speed range is dedicated to going flat out fast. To push the speed envelope in real world conditions you need maximum control, full concentration, and a board that doesn't distract you from finding your line. To achieve this, the boards are designed to trim like a plane on autopilot. Leaving the rider to focus on the wind and chop ahead- perfectly suited for both real-world GPS speedsailing and videotimed record attempts.
The Carbon Art SPEED range was designed and tested by Chris Lockwood in windy Western Australia, and proven at the world-class speed venues of Sandy Pt and Walvis Bay. With unrivalled versatility, the designs excel in the small rolling chop found in real-world speed conditions where other designs are struggling for control, and maintain uncompromised performance in record-breaking conditions.
