The 2007 ISWC AGM was held during Fuerteventura Grand Prix, 27.07.2007 in Sotavento, Fuerteventura, Spain
Votes of 26 riders were representeted.
Executive Secretary Markus Schwendtner opened the AGM at 18:15.
1. Chairmans report
Peter Davis gave a short overview about the new ISAF international class status and the planned cooperation between ISWC and ISA in the coming years. ISA is to be appointed Tour Promoter for the ISWC, contractual details are just being fixed between the MB and the ISA
2. Executive Secretarys report
Markus Schwendter gave an overview about the already held events and what is planned for 2008. There are 7 organizers, who want to hold a Speed Grand Prix event. In a short discussion the main part of the riders voted to have three events counting for the overall ranking, probably out of four events to be held.
3. Financial report
At the moment there are no accounts because the tour is run by ISA this year. For next year, the membership fee will be 50 Euro, payable until 31st of March each year.Late payments will be charged an additional 50 Euro, except rookie entries. Membership fee is also neccessary to ensure the sailnumber for the year.
4. Elections
No elections this year, but one slot has to be filled because Karin Jaggi stepped down. Appointed is Orlando Lavandera as new riders representative.
5. Rules changes
a) Validity of a round will be changed to "25% of the finishing riders in that leg must score 5 times over a certain speed" - 26 votes yes / 0 / 0
b) Direct advancing in Gold/Silver-fleet racing shall always be possible - 26 / 0 / 0
c) Standard offshore speed course: jibe mark and do not overtake will be replaced with a narrow gate - 25 / 1 / 0
d) leg length shall be variable due to the spot conditions, but always two extensions possible - 26 / 0 / 0
e) up to the first discards also non-finished rounds shall be counted - 20 / 6 / 0
f) points given for non-finished rounds - has to be deferred. Calculations for various if/then scenarios will be made and presented at next meeting.
