First warning for the Euopean Championships 2009 PDF Print E-mail

It looks like we are coming into a nice westerly flow now, and thus we are giving a first official warning for the European Championships being held in Dungarvan, Ireland, for the dates 17th till 23rd of October. We are closely monitoring the weather patterns and hope to give you a definite go in the next days.

 

 
European Speed Championships coming up PDF Print E-mail

This is a short reminder to register for the upcoming European Speed Championships. The most likely dates are 17th till 23rd of October. An early warning will be made next Friday, and the final call Friday next week. We will close registrations on 10th of Ocober then.

The event will be fully timed with GT-31 on a fixed 500m strip. GPS devices will be configured and provided by the organizer, but everybody is welcome to bring his own GPS and race with both for a good GPS-Speedsurfing ranking.

It is planned to organize an equipment shuttle from Dublin, please contact us for details.

Dungarvan European Championships update PDF Print E-mail

Time is running ! Do not forget to register for the next major event of the 2009 season, the European Championships for Windsurfers and Kiteboarders.

The most likely dates for the event are October 17th till 23rd, and final notice will be given well in time. Dungarvan offers one of the best speed venues in Europe, and with a strong westerly breeze top speeds are easy to achieve.

Information is out that Hydroptere has set new marks on both nautical mile and 500m.

48.7 knots over one nautical mile and 51.36 knots over 500m are the speeds to beat now, all subject to WSSRC ratification.

Congratulations go out from us to Alain Thebault and his crew for this huge achievment. You guys worked hard for it and really deserved it.
